Susan is Owner and Manager of Chesapeake Pet Resort & Day Spa, is a member of the Pet Care Services Association, and holds certifications through PCSA as a Pet Care Technician and Advanced Pet Care Technician. She has also completed Pet First Aid Training offered through the Southern Maryland Red Cross. A graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland with a degree in Biology, Susan also has a Masters Degree in Environmental Management, from the University of Maryland, University College. In addition to PCSA membership, Chesapeake Pet Resort & Day Spa is also a member of the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), Pet Sitters International (PSI), and provides regular donations to numerous Pet Resuce groups and other local charities in support of their efforts. Our newest association includes partnership with Petlane products, www.petlane.com/chessiepets, to provide our customers affordable and unique pet products.

Mary is our Operations Manager, with many years of proven pet care and grooming experience, in addition to her professional and caring personality. Mary oversees the daily operation to ensure "above and beyond" pet and customer care. Mary is also experienced with dog training and handling techniques. Mary does an excellent job of ensuring all pet guests are clean, happy and relaxed. To date, Mary has completed Level I and II of the PCSA Pet Care Technician program, and is Certified as an Advanced Pet Care Technician. Mary is also Certified thorugh the Southern Maryland Red Cross in Pet First Aid and CPR techniques. Mary also supervises our extensive staffing and scheduling needs on a daily basis throughout the year.

Jim is or Operations Assistant and does a fantasic job of assisting with the daily operations and upkeep here at the Resort. Jim has extensive experience working in commercial pet care facilities, which has been a great asset to oversee any repairs or operational stuff going on. Jim also assists with Pet and Customer Care here at The Resort when he's not busy doing "man chores!"

Elizabeth ("Liz") is our Pet Salon Certified Groomer. Liz graduated in the top of her class from the renowned Nash Academy of Animal Arts (www.nashacademy.com), in New Jersey. She has owned and grooomed show Standard Poodles, as well as many other breeds of dogs and cats, and has a true love and understanding for animals. Liz also operated her own sucessful grooming shop for several years, in Calvert County. We are excited to have Liz as part of our opertaion. Liz also assists with Pet and Customer Care here at The Resort.

Our additional staff includes our Pet Resort Assistants which are a very important part of what we do here at Chesapeake Pet Resort & Day Spa. We appreciate all their hard work and committment to our pet guests, and customers! Chesapeake Pet Resort & Day Spa also sponsers Staff in additional Certification programs through the Pet Care Services Association and the Red Cross Pet First Aid Certification programs. We're thankful for all our helpers that work so hard to keep your pets clean and safe, exercised, and comfie cozy!

Please note:

Pet Resort Assistant positions are primarily manual labor and cleaning and require frequent bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, carrying, walking in sloped terrains, raking leaves and other yard work labor, following detailed instructions and working effeciently and productively in a hechtic environment, to ensure all pet care responsibilities are optimized. We also work in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and snow.

Team members are expected to be available for work during times of need including most weekends, all holidays, and early mornings and/or late evenings, as these are our busiest times. (Our pet guests still eat and go potty on holidays and weekends.)

Preference will be given to applicants with friendly, stable, and outgoing personalities, that aren't afraid of manual labor, and have completed the Level 1: Certified Pet Care Technician course from the Pet Care Services Association.
